Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the Foamula app for iPhone ("the App") handles information when you use it, and how this website handles information when you visit it.

1. Summary

• The App has no accounts and never asks for your name, email address, contacts, photos or location.
• Your game progress is stored on your iPhone and is not sent to us.
• The App offers optional video clips from Google AdMob in exchange for hints. Google's advertising software inside the App collects some data about your device and how you use the App, as described in section 3.
• We do not sell your personal information. The App sends us no data that identifies you; the only personal data we receive is what you choose to send us by email.

2. Data stored on your iPhone

The App stores your game progress on your iPhone: ladder, daily and practice results (including your winning formula and the time of your first win each day), hints you have unlocked on puzzles you have not solved yet, puzzles you are in the middle of, and your settings. This data is not sent to us. Like other app data, it is included in your iPhone's backups if you back up to iCloud or a computer, and a result leaves your iPhone only if you choose to share it. Deleting the App deletes all of this data. Settings › Reset progress clears ladder and practice results; daily results, settings and hints unlocked on unsolved puzzles are kept.

3. Advertising: Google AdMob

The App uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK to offer optional clips: watch one, and the App shows you the formula for the current puzzle. The SDK connects to Google's servers when the App starts and when it prepares or shows a clip, whether or not you watch one.

According to Google's disclosures for the SDK, it may collect:

• device identifiers that are limited to the App or to its developer;
• your IP address, which Google may use to estimate your general location;
• information about the ads shown and how you interact with them;
• how you interact with the App, such as launches and clip views;
• diagnostic, performance and crash data.

Google uses this data to show and measure ads, for analytics, to prevent fraud and to improve its services, as described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and in the Google Privacy Policy.

The App never asks for permission to track you, so iOS does not make your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) available to the App or to Google. Ads in the App are limited to content rated G (general audiences). From AdMob we receive only aggregated reports, such as how many clips were shown.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

The App's own code does not use cookies. Google's advertising software and the ads it shows may use cookies, web beacons, your IP address and similar technologies inside the App to deliver and measure ads. This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no forms.

5. Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. The data described in section 3 goes from the App to Google so that Google can show and measure clips. Google may pass ad-request data to other advertising companies that bid to show a clip, and a clip may load content from the advertiser or from ad-measurement companies, which can see your IP address and that the ad was shown. If you tap an ad, the advertiser's page or the App Store opens under its own policies. Google handles and protects this data under the Google Privacy Policy and the terms that govern AdMob, and provides the same or equal protection of user data as described in this policy.

6. Keeping and deleting data

The App sends us no personal data, so there is nothing from the App on our side to delete. If you write to hello@foamula.app, we receive your email address and your message. We use them only to answer you and to act on what you write, such as fixing a bug you report. We keep them in our mailbox and delete them on request. Data on your iPhone is deleted when you delete the App. Data collected by Google is kept and deleted under Google's policies; you can review your Google ad settings at myadcenter.google.com. Deleting the App stops all data collection by the App. If you have a question about your data, write to hello@foamula.app and we will help.

7. Children

The App is intended for a general audience. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. This website

foamula.app is a static website hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site, under its own privacy policy. Messages sent to hello@foamula.app are forwarded to our mailbox by Cloudflare Email Routing; Cloudflare handles them, including a log of their sender, recipient and subject, under its own privacy policy.

9. Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will publish the new version on this page and change the date below.
